Brown Sugar Muffins

¼ cup butter                                                                ½ cup milk
½ cup brown sugar                                                      1 cup flour
1 egg                                                                           ½ tsp. soda
½ tsp. vanilla                                                               1/8 tsp. salt
                                                                                    ¼ cup chopped nuts
Cream butter and brown sugar.  Add eggs & vanilla.  Sift dry ingredients.  Add milk and dry ingredients alternately.  Bake at 375 F for 20 minutes.  Makes 1 dozen.
