Soup Mix

14 oz. dry green split peas                                          14 oz. alphabet macaroni
12 oz. pearl barley                                                       12 oz. lentils
1 ½ cup brown rice                                                     4 cup dry onions

Add 1 1/3 cup soup mix to 2 qts of water.  Add 4 tsp. salt and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer for 1 ½ hours. 
Add: 2 diced carrots                                                   1 ½ cup chopped cabbage
            1-2 stalks celery                                              2-8 oz. cans of tomato sauce
                                                                                    1 ½ lb. browned hamburger
Simmer for 20 min.
